| Liberty Bank supports BC Library capital campaign Sat, 12 Jul 2008 02:42:00 EST Liberty Bank of Arkansas recently committed to the Baxter County Library Foundation Capital Campaign for the new Library. A $50,000 donation qualifies the bank for the Margie Dahlke Supporter's Circle of Honor, which recognizes those giving at the $50,000-$99,999 level. Shown presenting a plaque for the Margie Dahlke Circle are (first row, from left) Deborah Knox, Library Foundation capital campaign chair, and Philip Young, Liberty Bank community president; and (second row) Gwen Khayat, librarian, and Sally Gilbert, Liberty Bank senior vice president-business development and Baxter County Library Board member. For the past two years, Liberty Bank put a roof over the head of the Library Foundation by providing office space when there was no space at the library facility. Earlier this year, the Library Foundation received a $9.8 million grant to build, furnish and equip a new 35,500-square-foot library. To ensure sustainability, the grantor requires a programming endowment of 20 percent of the grant amount, or approximately $2 million, which they then will match dollar for dollar for a fund for maintenance of the new facility. A capital campaign for the programming endowment was launched last year and to date has raised more than $1.1 million. |
